BEST HAIRSTYLES FOR HIJABIS

BEST HAIRSTYLES TO WEAR UNDER THE HIJAB

Although the hijab covers our hair, it should make sense to put some time into our hairstyle. The right hairdo will lessen the amount of tension on your hair, which will protect your hairline and gorgeous locks! Also, this extra step will help prevent or prolong the amount of time it takes before your hair starts to come out from your scarf! I don’t know about you, but I always have anxiety when I feel like my hair is becoming undone or I have some baby hairs peeking out.

Because of the reasons above, it is necessary to have a list of go-to hijab friendly hairstyles.

Here are some of the most practical and best hairstyles to wear under the hijab:

BEST HAIRSTYLES TO WEAR UNDER THE HIJAB

1. PONYTAIL OR BUN

HAIR LENGTH: Shoulder length and longer

Ponytails and buns are by the far, the easiest and most-used hairstyle. They work great if you are short on time but can cause tension in the hair and unravel under the hijab if it is not tight enough. If you want to put less strain on your hair, try doing a low ponytail or bun.

2. CLIPPED BACK

HAIR LENGTH: Short

This hairstyle works for short hair and is super easy. All you need to is get some barrettes, bobby pins, headbands, etc. and secure your hair from your face.

3. TRADITIONAL BRAID

HAIR LENGTH: Shoulder length and longer

The traditional braid hairdo is a quick and effective solution for most girls because it creates less tension than the ponytail and reduces the chances of getting stray hairs in your face.

4. FRENCH BRAID

HAIR LENGTH: Shoulder length and longer

Although it may take some effort, the french braid is the most hijab friendly hairstyle.  It prevents hair tension and holds both longer and shorter locks. The shorter hairs will be secured as they are added to the braid when you start at the top.

I would say the french braid hairstyle is my favorite and most used hairstyle because it keeps everything in place. When I take my scarf off with the french braid, I feel like I look somewhat decent. It’s funny, but I want to look good when I take off the scarf, especially when I am in the bathroom at school. I know that once I remove the hijab to adjust it, everyone’s eyes will be on my head and I don’t want to look like Albert Einstein.
