SUHOOR ROUTINE 2016 – RAMADAN MORNING ROUTINE
Asalamualaikum everyone! In today’s post I am going to share my Suhoor Routine for 2016! I really like how it’s working for me so far because I have created a schedule that gives me enough time to eat, drink, workout, and get ready for work. I personally think that it is always a good idea to plan your Suhoor Routine in advance in order to prepare yourself for success and feel productive.
4:00 – WAKE UP AND MAKE THE BED
As someone who has been guilty of skipping this step for many years, I can say with confidence that making your bed REALLY makes you feel more productive. There’s just something about leaving your room with a made up bed that gives you the right start to your day.
4:05 – FEED THE KITTIES
My cats get really annoying and loud if my family and I eat before they do ….so in order to prevent a disturbance during Suhoor, we feed them before we start eating. They’ve basically shifted the balance of power in their favor.
4:10 – DRINK WATER
I always find myself feeling more thirsty than hungry during Ramadan, and because I’ve just woken up, it’s important for me to hydrate myself after hours of sleeping. I like to drink around 12 ounces and give myself a few minutes before I start my run to let the water get into my system.
4:20 – GO FOR A QUICK JOG
Because it’s a bit difficult during this time of the year to include a large workout into my day, I like to keep it simple and jog for about 10 minutes. After that, I like to follow up with a few minutes of walking to help myself cool down just in time to actually start Suhoor.
4:35 – PREPARE AND EAT SUHOOR
During Suhoor, I like to place a larger focus on getting my hydration for the day so I eat light and drink a lot. My usual Suhoor breakfast consists of:
– 2 TSP of Chia seeds + Water
– Chocolate Vega powder + Banana + Water + Ice
– LARABAR
5:00 – MAKE WUDU, PRAY FAJR, & GET READY TO LEAVE FOR WORK
A lot of people like to take a quick nap after praying, but because I have to head out of the house early, I go straight to completing my morning prayer. After that, I change into my work clothes and get myself ready to head to work.
